Appearing in the Google Play web store, Google has announced an updated Maps for iOS devices including that of a specialized interface for iPad users.

In December, an iPhone version of Maps has been available, but only an iPhone-sized app is seen on the iPad’s screen. Now, with the Maps 2.0, a new design for iPad and iPad mini is created for users to enjoy the mapping database.

Among the enhanced features are live traffic update, incident reports, and OK Maps, which allows users to access the tool offline by saving the results for later viewing. Another notable addition is Zagat which provides reviews and tips on restaurants, bars, stores, and other locations.

"A dedicated tablet design brings all the features of Google Maps, including Street View, to a larger screen, which makes exploring the world from the comfort of your living room engaging and fun. Go from the Colosseum to your local pizza joint in just a few taps," Google shared in a blog post.

With these updates on Google maps that allow features to work better on bigger screen, an iPad experience gets more exciting.
