Apple’s rumored budget iPhone, now dubbed as iPhone 5C, is said to come out with same 8-megapixel camera as the iPhone 5.

Rumors regarding Apple’s low cost iPhone surfaces as Chinese site IT168 reported last Thursday that the so-called iPhone 5C will have an 8-megapixel camera just like the iPhone 5’s and even have the same sapphire crystal scratch-resistant cover.

As other reports previously claimed regarding the iPhone 5C, it is said to have other iPhone 5 features like the A6 processor and 1 gigabyte of RAM. Rumors have speculated that this is Apple’s solution in order to avoid sourcing new materials.

With almost the same internals, Apple will then change its externals into a multi-colored exterior rear plastic shell. The case design will be more rounded, slightly taller and larger than that of the iPhone 5 since the plastic shell is thicker.

It is said to launch in early September alongside the release of the new iPhone 5S. It is estimated to be priced between $450 to $550.

As people gets excited with the news of a low-cost iPhone, iPhone 5S also gears up for a more improved low light photography option with its upgraded 12-megapixel camera, and a fingerprint sensor for more secured user identification.
