As Apple sends invites for its iPhone 5S announcement on Sept. 10, it seems that the tech giant is ready to create bigger news as reports of it considering a 4.8 to 6-inch screen for its future lines of iPhone circulate in the web.

Days before the big iPhone 5S reveal, Wall Street Journal  released a statement regarding more future plans for the Apple smartphone. It seems that the electronics company is considering offering the next generations of iPhone with screens ranging from 4.8 to 6 inches in height.

Furthermore, the Journal shared that “people familiar with the company’s internal deliberations and plans indicate it [Apple] appears more willing to move ahead than in years past.”

The iPhone 5 currently sports a 4-inch screen while the iPhone 4S has a 3.5-inch screen. The coming iPhones this September are also said to share the same size as their predecessors, so this news comes out as a surprise. This change in screen size is a huge leap from the smartphone’s other models.

It is speculated that this move is due to the fact that almost all Apple rivals sell phones that are larger than the iPhone.  Just this Wednesday, Korean rival Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 which features a 5.7-inch screen.

More solid news regarding the mentioned move will probably be available next year. Meanwhile, fans are encourage to focus more on the September 10 media event as the newest Apple gadgets iPhone 5S and 5C are set to conquer the day.
